Water. Water is in the garden weather we put it there or not. There no life without water. As water is a building block for life. People are drawn to water. What does water offer to the garden?

Fire. Fire is a wonderful element that adds comfort to our life.  From the caveman days to today fire is a luxury.  Fire greatly extends the time we can spend in the garden by giving us warmth and light.   What does fire offer to the garden?

  • Soothing
  • Peaceful
  • Illumination
  • Warmth (extending the usage time of the garden)
  • Light (extending the usage time of the garden)
  • Cooking

Types of Pumps

  • Submersible Pump: easy to install, typical for smaller fountains, more difficult to maintain, inexpensive
  • External Pump: more difficult to install, typical for larger fountains, easier to maintain, more expensive

Types of Fountain Pools

  • Open and level with pavement: high maintenance, easier to clean
  • Closed and level with pavement: safe and easier to maintain, more difficult to clean
  • Raised edge open pool: safe, easier to maintain and clean

Types of Fire Places

  • Chimney: easier to clean, most control of smoke, expensive to build
  • Permanent fire pit (wood burner): difficult to clean, no control of smoke, inexpensive to build
  • Permanent fire pit (gas burner): easy to clean, little smoke, moderate cost
  • Portable fire pit: moderately easy to clean, inexpensive, flexible
